TSA BADGES ENDING AT PRC

Dear Airport Users,

Effective today (10-01-2010), the Airport has received approval from the TSA to do away with the TSA portion of the badging program however a huge task remains in front of us. Currently the Airport has over 1700 active TSA badges and the TSA has directed the airport to collect ALL of the airport badges that are being deactivated. Please return your badge (even if it is expired) to the Airport Department ASAP.

For those badge holders who do NOT have airfield driving authorization, you may start turning in your airport ID badges at one of several locations listed below.

A drop box placed in the Airport Terminal,
A drop box adjacent to the N-Hangar bathroom at Bottlenecks
At the Airport Administration during normal business hours
Or with your authorized signatory (see attached list)

If you DO HAVE AIRFIELD DRIVING AUTHORIZATION as indicated by the “D” on your badge, you will need to keep your badge to retain your airfield driving authorization per FAA standards. Those badges will need to be renewed, based on the expiration date.

The City has also collected an extensive database of airport user email addresses. These email addresses have been useful in getting information out about the airport and its happenings such as construction activities and various airport updates. The City will keep your email address active in our database for continued use in sending out airport information updates unless you wish other wise. I fyou wish for your email address to be removed from the airport email data base, please reply to airport.security@prescott-az.gov with the message "remove from airport email list" in the subject line. Please also include your name so we can more easily search for your information.

Additionally, we ask that you continue to practice some basic security and safety principles into the future.

Please obey all signs posted on the airport.

Please only 1 vehicle per gate operation.

Please report any suspicious person or activity to the Airport Operations Department or the Police Department.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact my office at the information listed below. Also please spread the word and this email to other airport users that you know. We appreciate you help in our compliance with the TSA requirements.

Sincerely,
Benjamin Vardiman, ACE
